Opening on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 6:30 PM.

As part of its year-long celebration marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of artist John A. Noble (1913-83), the Noble Maritime Collection will present the exhibition Inspired: Contemporary Artists Respond to John A. Noble.

The eight contemporary artists in the exhibition work in the various media in which Noble worked. The exhibition will include paintings by Patricia Melvin, Frank Hanavan, and Patrizia Vignola. Christopher Clarke will exhibit prints, and Bill Higgins will exhibit a photograph. Dan Thompson will exhibit drawings.

Architects Marie Law Adams and Dan Adams will exhibit a model of the marine park they built in Chelsea, Massachusetts.

Noble often wrote about his subjects, and each contributor will write a short essay about his or her submission.
