Irish singer songwriter Larry Kirwan returns to the Noble Maritime Collection

STATEN ISLAND, NEW YORK, April 10, 2015— Irish singer songwriter Larry Kirwan, best known as the leader of the band Black 47, will return to the Noble Maritime Collection for a solo concert on Saturday, July 18, at 8:00 PM.

An accomplished playwright and composer, Kirwan has written 13 plays and musicals. He hosts and produces SiriusXM’s Celtic Crush and writes a weekly column for the Irish Echo. The Daily News named him one of the Top Fifty Most Interesting New Yorkers.

Kirwan has ties to maritime history and Sailors’ Snug Harbor. The museum’s study of the famous retirement home inspired him to write a song called Floating that he will debut at the concert.

The Noble Maritime Collection is a museum and study center on the campus of Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden, 1000 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island, New York.
